Sea Life Artist Jeremy Reed
is a self taught, award winning artist & illustrator originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, who is known for his vibrant acrylic paintings and his stunning sculptures created from facial tissue.
Having a strong passion for life and the beauty it contains, he carefully tries to convey this passion in every piece he creates. He firmly believes that art is more than something that hangs on the wall or mantle, but an exploration of the world around us, as well as within us.
His love of art…
Jeremy loved art his entire life. As a child, he could always be found drawing picture after picture. Ironically, though, he was not interested in painting at all. After he married his wife, Tabitha, all that would change. When she saw his drawings, she urged him to try painting despite his protests. She then bought him his first canvas and paints. A year later, he began working on a painting as a surprise for her. He, though, was the one surprised! He suddenly had awakened with in himself a love for the medium and hasn’t been able to stop since. Years later, his paintings have found a place in galleries and private collections throughout the world.
His Love of the Ocean…
Jeremy’s love for the ocean started much like his love for painting. He literally fell in and never wanted to get out! As a small child he often spent time in the Florida Keys visiting his Grand parents. They lived in Key Largo, right on a canal that led out to the ocean. Always intrigued by the water, Jeremy loved to play near the water, but was afraid to get in. That all changed one day when he fell right in. Realizing he didn’t sink right to the bottom, Jeremy discovered his passion. He’s been exploring the oceans every chance he gets ever since.
Now living on the southwest Florida Coast with his wife, Tabitha, Jeremy is thrilled to be so close to his inspiration. He looks forward to continuing to explore the wondrous underwater world through his art, sharing the ocean with all to enjoy and value.
Whether its his love of the ocean, the art of dance, or any number of his other subjects, collectors from around the world have eagerly sought out his stunning work. Jeremy’s goal is to continue to help others not only see the beauty of the world around us, but to feel it.
